Okay maybe I was a little bit harsh yesterday, while talking about our Little Brother. This has been known to happen from time to time. Sometimes Little Brother gets a bug up his butt, and keeps pushing and pushing until you feel the need to reach out and bitch slap him. Of course I am in no position to bitch slap the Spartans. All I can do is write down some incoherent thoughts and then post them. If you take offense, well your problem not mine. Fwiw I am normally very respectful of opposing schools fanbases, however with MSU its hard to be respectful when you see shit like the RCMB. That place is such an awful clusterfuck of garbage………I’d link to it but once in a week is enough.

So we continue on down this wonderful road that is Hate Week. I could bust out the number of days since MSU has won a Big Ten Championship or since MSU has won a Rose Bowl, but I’m not gonna do that. I’m gonna tell you a tale that happened not so long ago regarding the MSU fan base and  what they mean to me.

A few years ago when Drew Stanton was drafted by the Lions, A Spartan friend of mine (yes he went to school there) said to me “Dude the Lions have found their answer at QB.” After Watching Stanton play throughout his college career, I of course was a little bit bummed. I thought the Lions would be much wiser using that pick to help their much maligned defense. This friend was psyched, he swore that Stanton was going to be the Lions Saving Grace. When Stanton was hurt and wasn’t  named the starter coming out of the preseason that year, I had a conversation with this friend. It went something like this:

Me: Whats up buddy.

Friend:  Them motherfucking Lions how in the fuck are they gonna not play Stanton. Haven’t they seen what he did in College?

Me: Well dude you are aware that he has a knee injury correct?

Friend: Fuck that shit Spartans don’t get knee injuries, the Lions always fuck up MSU grads careers. Look what those bastards did to Charles Rogers!

Me: You are aware that Rogers was lazy and may have a drug problem right?

Friend: Shit he only has a drug problem because of Detroit. This is in no way his fault!! Rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble rabble

It went on like this for quite a while. At the end all I could do was hang up the phone and laugh. How irrational is the Spartan Nation? Pretty goddamn irrational. The Lions story is 100%  true although there has been many beers drunk since then and I forget the exact words used by this friend. Its close enough to the truth.

My point is this, if you wander around looking at college football blogs and message boards, like I do, then you’ll notice that while every fanbase has some fucking idiots posting on the forums, nobody does it quite like Sparty. These dudes pray for injuries to star players, they burn couches, and I know its not all of them, but the vast majority are a bunch of jackoffs. Posts like this one, or the one yesterday, wouldn’t be necessary if you people would just take the high road every once in a while. I could also take the high road, but sometimes I fit in better down in the sewers.
